Having studied painting, Elham Alirezaei started designing jewelry in an experimental way in 2009, based on visual knowledge and the study of the eastern culture. Later on, she continued jewelry design more professionally. Her approach towards jewelry design constitutes of integrating various cultural elements and creating novel combinations. The results of these attempts have been displayed in significant Iranian art galleries such as Etemad, Seyhoun, Ariana, etc.
Elham worked with Kia brand from 2014 to 2021 to bring new esthetic content to compound gold-silver products and produced and presented various works as a result. She has tried to increase the potential of Iranian art in the medium of jewelry across international markets.
Born in Tehran in1974, Banafsheh is a master’s graduate of industrial design. Her passion for philosophy has later led to her obtaining a PhD in philosophy of art. In her doctoral thesis, she has been concerned with the philosophical foundations of the relation between art and geometry. For more than twenty years, Banafsheh has been professionally active as a designer, exemplary in founding Banafsheh Design Studio in Tehran. Her extensive pursuits in the field of design involve designing furniture, landscape, light, accessories, and jewelry. The relief of Gilan University’s Amphitheater illustrates her work as a sculptor. The last solo exhibition of her sculptural work was held in December 2018 in Tehran. Motifs of Islamic architecture play a major role in her sculptural and jewelry work. Banafsheh employs the diverse geometric patterns of Islamic architecture in her creations and, sometimes, by disrupting their rigid order, extends the visual and formal capacities of her works. Her approach can be best described as appropriating Islamic geometry. Banafsheh has shown her works in numerous exhibitions in Iran, the United States, Italy, and Malaysia. Besides professional work in the field of design, she is engaged in academic teaching. She has also attended various festivals as a judge. Some of the awards she has received for her professional work include Florence’s International Art & Design Competition (2017) and A’ Design Award (2017), among others.
born in 1981, has a Bachelor’s degree in Handicrafts, subfield of Jewelry, and a Master’s degree in Arts Research. She began professional jewelry making in 2007. Baharak tries to view jewelry from both aesthetic and conceptual perspectives. She often draws on the role of women in the mythology and culture of Iran. In some of her works, she has also concentrated on the enlightenment of Iranian women, where she sometimes demythologizes and sometimes revives the myths. All in all, most of her works represent the connection between the woman, the earth, the water, prosperity, life, and/or nature. Her handicrafts have been displayed in several galleries in Iran and Europe. Baharak was among the selected craftspeople for fashion design in the 8th Behance Global Event. She holds both the Unesco Seal of Excellence for Handicraft and the National Seal for Handicraft. She became the first selected craftsperson in the First Contemporary Artistic Jewelry Exhibition of Tehran, and was one of judges in the 3rd Biennial of Tehran Jewelry Design Week. She has been teaching artistic handicraft making in universities and in her studio in 2010.
Art researcher, translator and author. She is involved in interpreting art/art criticism texts and contexts and cooperating with cultural and artistic journals. She participates in executing relevant programs regarding exhibitions, events, tours, seminars and etc.
